sunshine coach program

Thousands of Detroit area children are able to get around town by virtue of Variety’s Sunshine Coach Program.  Sunshine Coaches are vans which are modified to meet the transportation needs of youngsters with disabilities.  These vehicles operate in the service of hospitals, recreation centers, and human resource facilities that serve “special children”.

All over Variety’s World, youngsters with special needs are riding to and from places of rehabilitation, learning and recreation in comfort and safety, thanks to the Sunshine Coach Program.

The Sunshine Coach Program is a self-funding part of Variety, and sponsorships are continually sought.  Help is given by individuals, industry, staff organizations of large companies and others. 

Ford Motor Company is in its 17^th year of the Sunshine coach Program with Variety International.  Sunshine coaches currently on the road throughout Southeastern Michigan.
